This former working cow horse competitor and all-around cowgirl has a lifetime of experience to call upon when putting pen to paper, oil to canvas or fire to the crown of a hat....
Steer Roping by Linda Rosser
Being a horse person could be a weakness, Linda Rosser admitted, but she talks about this fraility only as it relates to her other passion, art. Rosser is a multi-faceted creative artist who works with equal expertise in the mediums of photography, pen and ink, pencil, oil, acrylics, watercolor and even pyrographics, drawing with fire. Of the several thousand pieces she's produced, including murals, her subjects are predominantly western.

Rosser, who lives on a 200 acre ranch near Marysville, California, knows of what her work depicts. She is a champion in the disciplines of reined cow horse and barrel racing, and she is a vetran Rodeo Producer.

Rosser, who characterizes her style as not quite that of a "photo realist", appreciates different styles of art.

Linda Rosser, who still rides, doesn't mind doing the dirty work of grooming etc., because she appreciates a horse that is in beautiful condition.

"When the work is done I want a horse person to come up to it and say, 'You know, it's perfect. The horse's conformation is really well done.' The down side is that when I paint, I become to involved in all that detail, in my opinion."
